End-of-Week Review 10.5.24

The Year 3 Friendship Tree from today’s Celebration Worship is a lovely way to start this week’s review. It was a real treat to listen to their positive affirmations of each other, their family, and other people so influential in their lives.

This week, I was struck by the generosity of the Lock family, closely connected to Thurlbear School, who have donated a funeral collection of £186.60 to us. This celebration of a life will benefit all of our pupils and I will ensure the family know exactly how it is used. Our governor, Mrs Hetherington, is looking at ideas to improve our quiet area and this seems like a wonderful way to kickstart those funds.

In PTA News, our May Fair is next Friday (17th May) 3:15pm – 6pm!
It will be a special Dress Down Friday with bottle, chocolate and cake donations all very much appreciated to fill our Tombola and refreshment stalls on the day.
Please consider volunteering a little bit of time to help out at the event at either a class stall or with clearing away at the end. These community events run by the PTA are great fun but they are only made possible when we all pull together and spreading the job lists makes everyone feel great! Get in touch if you can help.

Local sporting opportunities for girls are booming! Mr Caldecott has the following message:

“North Curry Football Club is offering 3 FREE Girls-Only Football Taster Sessions for girls in Year 3 and 4 in June!

This is the perfect place to play with like minded young girls and to fall in love with the game! The sessions will be fun and empowering and delivered by UEFA C qualified coaches!

If anyone is thinking: “Have I missed a school lunch menu?” the answer is no! Instead, from June 3rd, we go to an online system! SchoolGrid will be emailing you with details on how to order and all other details needed by families.

The busy weeks just keep coming, and next week is SATs. Breakfast is provided for them all week and we look forward to the end of them and a May Fair to celebrate.
